My favourite story was when Melinda Hildebrandt attended one of the workshops. Melinda told me she wanted to write a book about the joys and challenges of raising her daughter who has additional needs. She went on to publish her memoir, Amelia & Me: on deafness, autism and parenting by the seat of my pants. She became widely interviewed on different media throughout Australia and she touched the lives of many parents in the same boat.

Glennon Doyle woke up in the wee hours of the morning to write Untamed before her young kids woke up. She realised that she needed to skip TV and go to bed earlier if she wanted to create the space to write.
Before I had the boys, I'd go to a library on a Sunday and write to movie themes and classical music. I've ghostwritten/written several books that way. Now my only quiet time is 5am-6am before the boys wake up but it's incredible what you can achieve at that hour! Yes, I've had to go to bed a bit earlier, but that's a small price to pay for writing a book I feel passionate about.
